Cutter Law P.C.

Compensation matters can be of considerable importance for a person following suffering injuries in a car wreck. There are financial burdens that can go along with being injured in a car accident, and getting fair compensation can significantly help with easing these burdens.

Among the things that can impact how compensation matters end up going for a car crash victim is how well-tailored their approach to the matters is to the particular circumstances of their accident. Every auto crash is different, and an accident's unique aspects can influence what issues are present in the legal matters connected to it. Auto accident attorneys can help crash victims address the unique compensation issues coming out of their accident's circumstances.

As auto technology develops, there are new circumstances that can come up in car accidents. One type of new circumstance that is just staring to pop up are crashes involving self-driving vehicles.

California has already seen a few such accidents. California has allowed self- driving cars that have a test driver to be tested out on the state's roads, and there have been some crashes during these tests. As a note, the number of such crashes has been quite small. Between late 2014 and the middle of this April, 30 crashes involving self-driving vehicles were reported. The bulk of these were accidents in which a self-driving car was rear-ended.

The state is currently considering expanding what kinds of self-driving cars it will allow on the roads. Proposed regulations have been put forward that would open the door to the testing of cars that are truly driverless. They also would also permit self-driving car use by the general public..

So, it seems like California's roads could soon be seeing more self-driving cars, and thus possibly more self-driving-car-involved crashes. How common do you think accidents involving self-driving cars will be here in California once such cars become available to the public?
